I had my ultrasound today to check for birth defects similar to Ellie. Its all good news.....the baby looks perfect so far. So perfect in fact, there isn't really much to say about it at all. Even my placenta is behaving (mostly). Its anterior and no where near the cervix. The only possible issue could be since its anterior, I could have issues with accreta again. They will just watch it and see.
Can I just say, the relief is immense. We could deal with it if there were problems, however I'm glad for the sake of this baby we don't have to. I was so nervous, I couldn't even sleep last night. Maybe, and I hesitate to even say this, I will have an uneventful pregnancy, delivery, and baby. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
So I suppose you want to know the gender, eh? Its another girl! We are both very happy about that. I made no secret of the fact that I really wanted this baby to be another girl. I wanted Gabe to be the only boy. I never wanted him to feel like he had to compete with a biological son. Speaking of Gabe, just like last time he totally called it. He has insisted all along that this baby was a girl, just like with Ellie. Of course, he also thinks we should name her Ellie too so......
Sorry once again I dropped off the planet. Its not my fault, see the day after my last post I came down with the flu. The bonafide, I want to die its so horrible, flu. I'm still fighting off the last remnants of it in fact. Of course, Ellie got it after me and Gabe had it before me, so the sickfest continued around these parts. I think we are all healthy.....for now. I have things to tell you about Gabe and Ellie, they each deserve their own posts. Hopefully it won't take me a month to write them.
Finally, more great news......Ben has been cancer free for a year now (well, officially in April). His scan came back completely clean. Hooray! Its been a good couple of weeks (sickness not included) for the Nelson's.
Here's my baby girl:
I have some 3D pictures of her face as well, but she still looks a bit alien-like. Maybe next time.

Hooray for all of the good news!! I'm so excited for you all!
